I use a Sony V1U 30p 1440x1080 and in Vegas I export .mov photojpeg 1920x1080 1.0 par 79% quality. When I compare the original file to the new .mov, the .mov seems to loose quality or contrast.
I use 79% quality becuase one of the stock footage sites say there is no difference over 75% other than filesize.
Thanks for any advice, Randy

I use 94% if I can keep the file size under or around 500mb. I do not use Vegas, I use Premier Pro CS3. I have found that after converting an AVI to a .MOV the preview on LCD screens do not look as good as the original. Maybe someone using Vegas can help you better.

I convert at around 80% to 90%, depending on the level of motion in the file. The more motion, the less compression. I use the FCP sequence and then convert. For bulk conversions I use Streamclip.

Anything above 85 to 90 percent is probably pointless, as it just adding to what is there. 75 percent is the baseline for more of the stock companies. 95 percent just creates massive files without benefit, IMHO. This of course from HDV to PJPEG.
