hi all.
ive been making music for commercials and library companies for years now.
im interested in pond5 but id like to get some insight into what its like, sales etc.
is it 'fair'? or do you feel like you're selling everything way too low?
is it possible to remove your tracks if you dont feel its working out?
here is a link to my work - www.allgoodfolks.co.uk.

thanks!

I'm not an audio contributor, but I do know you have the power to set your own pricing to what you feel is fair. One thing I've learned on the video end of things is that lower pricing does not necessarily equal more sales, and that you should price your work to the level of industry standards for your quality and your target market. You do have the ability to delete tracks as you see fit as well. I can't speak for sales on the audio side, but your work is very good - I'd say jump in and find out! Maybe some audio contributors can give you more specifics.

Since I set my price, the only one I have to blame if I feel it's too low is me. Removing tracks is super easy.

Sales are slow for me. I've been at it here for a few years and was hoping to make some significant income by now. Last year was my best yet by far, so I'll be sticking with it.

Some strategies that have helped me:

- research the genres and styles that are selling here and match that with what you do best
- consistently upload new content. For me, that means 2-4 compositions a month, with about 5 alternate mixes each.
- self promote on social media. I have even run FB ads with some success.

I wish I could say which genres work best for me, but there really isn't enough data. At this point, I do my research and make a gut call.

Good luck! I will say like most things in music licensing, it's probably going to take longer than you think to start seeing traction.
