A 'Stinger' is a short edit (3-7 sec approx) with a sharp ending (not always though) that is used for transitions in different media and/or highlight the end of a scene, they are great for podcasts. A 'Bumper' is a short edit, too (up to 15 sec) and is used for example for going to or coming from commercials.
