(16)Cycas siamensis Miq., commonly known as the Thai cycad or the Siam cycad, is a species of cycad native to Thailand. It belongs to the family Cycadaceae, which is a small family of primitive plants that have existed since the time of the dinosaurs. Cycas siamensis is one of the several species of cycads found in Thailand. This cycad is a slow-growing, evergreen plant that can reach a height of about 6 meters (20 feet) with a trunk diameter of up to 30 centimeters (12 inches). It has a crown of feathery, pinnate leaves that can grow up to 2.5 meters (8 feet) in length. The leaflets are dark green and glossy, giving the plant an attractive appearance.
