May 17th 2023 a house fire erupted on Township Road 592 east of the corner of Highway 32 in Whitecourt, a small municipality 300 kilometers west of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. No injuries were reported and occupants were absent at the time of the blaze considered suspicious. Due to its proximity to tree and it dangerous location amidst several nearby wildfires among others the Edson fire complex and the Drayton Valley fire complex, the Deep Creek fire complex and the Fox Creek fire complex. Crews battled the blaze from an aerial attack using a helicopter built with a collapsible water bucket attached at the end of a cable used to remotely activate to open the base and let water out.
