In southern Jordan there is the historical and archaeological city Petra. It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can see the world famous old Treasury, a whole city into the mountain rocks (rock-cut architecture) and giant gorges. Also there are the famous stone graves. Petra, also known as "Rose City", lies on the slope of Jebel al-Madhbah, that could be the biblical Mount Hor and is in a large valley. Films have been recorded here: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Arabian Nights, Passion in the Desert, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, The Mummy Returns and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
