V2 causing computer to halt and crash

I have some odd behavior on my computer when browsing clips with the new version of P5 (v2)
Often when viewing thumbnails, open clips for detail, the computer halt after a while (the mac busy wheel show up), and this force me to restart the computer!
This has happen often the last month after I started to use v2. Going back to the previous version of P5, everything work fine, no halt or rebooting!
Maybe this is at my side, but if any other have the same problem, please replay.
I am on a MacBook Pro 2.93 GHz Intel 2 duo core running OSX 10.8.2. I know that this computer is some years old, but I edit and compile much of my HD and Time Lapse clips on it without any issue.
Other websites is also loading fast and reliable, only P5 new version has made me in trouble!
My default browser is Safari v 6.0.2. I also tried with Firefox 18.0.2 with same type of problems!
I reported a while back to P5 support that I had problems with my 2 browsers browsing and maintaining my clips. The answers back from support was to try using the Chrome browser by now.
I hope that this problem is at my side and that not many others have the same. Forcing people to use a specific browser is a big no no IMHO! And could in the long run influence on sales!

I haven't had any crashing issues, but it does slow down. Sometimes while browsing on my older computer I actually switch back to the old version just to speed things along. On the bright side, I do love the new layout look.

Thanks Michael for your replay!
I have been using Google Chrome Browser v 24.0.1312.57 with P5 v2 for a couple of days working with my uploads, organizing, keywording etc. and guess what; no halt or stop at all!
Looks like the new P5 version is optimized for the Chrome Browser when using a Mac computer.

Chrome seems to be more and more problematic. It's not just here on P5. I see issues on other sites as well, particularly when there is video play. I think there are issues with their memory caching. I have many times needed to (attempt) to kill Chrome processes. Chrome is becoming a really fat pig too. It seems that all of these companies just love to fatten up code and call it an upgrade.

On windows, I had a lot of trouble with IE, but switched to Chrome and have no more issues. The problem usually was during the loading thumbnails or open the individual video pages. Also if I looked at recently sold page, where many of the large thumbnails needed to open. Chrome works much better for me on PC.
