Seems like everyone is quiet in the forums lately. Probably because everyone is doing well :-). I was having lots of problems in the beginning getting everything setup, but now it is very smooth sailing from here on out... HOPEFULLY! I just started trying to learn AE. I have perfected my ripping the video, trimming it, then uploading it. Keywording sometimes gets me down, but I normally keyword a batch of 10 or so, then do something else, then come back.

So how is everyone else?

Glad to hear you're learning AE. I need to get into it.
By the way, I hate the keywording part. Much more fun to shoot video. We should all have assistants that keyword for us. (well, in my world anyway)

BTW the reason the tutorials are free is because he markets other similar products off his main site, other than that, there is no 'catch.'

I'll second the Andrew Kramer tutorials. I started working in AE a little over a year ago and did Andrew's tutorials. He has a gift for explaining complex things and making it understandable to someone who is just beginning to learn the program.

It takes a little while to get comfortable with AE and start experimenting with things on your own, but once you do a whole new world opens up. Once you get up to speed, I'd highly recommend the Trapcode Plugins, especially Particular. It's a lot better than the particle systems that come with AE.

I just stay up late because I don't work normal hours. :P :)

But yes I do sleep a lot, and when I get up in the morning I have a large Jake...
and by Jake I mean the slang term in England for hard cider.

I think Andrew is really funny, for the advanced demon face tutorial he went on and on about resurecting real demons for like 5 minutes. lol! he's entertaining which makes it easier to pay attention to... and you do learn a lot.

I watched a couple of his tutorials. You're right, he is funny and informative.
What version AE do you use? Do you need the latest version to do some of the things he shows? The reason I'm asking is I can get the version 6.5 on Ebay for about $100 or so and upgrade to CS for another $299 if I need to.
(by the way, I'm not commenting on the "large Jake"comment here, we tore the hell out of that other forum)

I use 7.0 ... 6.5 should be fine. Ive used 5.0 a long while ago and it seemed to have all of the most important functions.,,I was going to upgrade to cs here soon I think.
