week10--summer

Ok kids, last week didn't go so well......

This week is summer. Everyone here has something for that category.

As an incentive, if we don't get any takers on this weeks topic, next week the topic will be changed to Jake, all Jake, all day every day.

And the following week will be Dapoopta getting in the shower.
So get your videos ready if you don't want to see that show...
And if you do, there are people that can help you.

Cool video Scott.

I enjoyed watching your too Jake.

Someone join in this conversation or you are going to make Jake and I look like 2 fruitcakes googling each others good (not the typical google.com google, worse!).

I like vaders clip too, when he fades the one scene to the other. This brings me to a question I have been meaning to ask for a while,
do you guys leave 'auto exposure' on usually, so it auto adjusts to the scene? I notice this in vaders clip when he points to the sky? I have been turning mine to locked exposure when doing videos, because it gives that 'pulsating' feeling with the lights sometimes. Just curious.

Come on Don, get a video of you jogging in that awesome speedo that came in one of those quarter machine balls at grocery stores.

I don't use auto anything. If the light changes it will show up very quickly in your clip.
Same thing with focus, use manual focus. You don't want the camera to lock on something and focus on that instead of your subject.

Yes, very cool fading in your clip Vader.

Thanks guys. Hey Scott - your video reminds me of my hopeful future. You know, when I get stink'n rich off of this place. :) And Jake, the way that girl was throwing that ball, I hope the boy was wearing some safety stuff.. :) But cool crisp colors for sure.

I suppose we are the sole survivors of this weekly thing this week eh?

Seems so Andy. Even the guys that thought this up aren't playing the reindeer game anymore.
Those kids were great to work with, I got some cool clips from them that weekend.

I thought those were your kids Jake.

I would be so lucky to have kids that were easily available for modeling.
The lady in this clip is the mom of the two kids playing ball, the other girl is a friend of theirs.

I was able to get about 25 or so videos and as many still photos from the shoot.
I paid the kids $15.00 an hour and I gave the mom one of my framed art photographs, so everyone was happy.
The photographs are selling great and already have sold a few of the clips.

So what kind of drinks were those kids mixing for you? One looked like an apple martini (green color) - the other could be a very young Guiness. :) - Now the serious note: Jake, that is an awsome concept and a great way to get people involved. SInce I do photography as well, I have found that everyone loves being in the spotlight. But when you pay them on top of that, they really perform. I have to say, you do some really neat stuff and have a very creative aptitude.
