Stereoscopic 3D Only!

I have been working stereoscopic cinema for a company before doing it for stock. I decided to make Coins Fall stereoscopic after I noticed an increase in interest for stereoscopic footage.

Stereoscopic image is old at least as photography. Stereoscopic fashion has come and gone many times. I do not think the present wave will last longer. Stereoscopic image is something you get accustomed to. The moment you become accustomed you no longer notice it. So, I doubt this fashion will last very long.

I have produced a few 3-D clips and have uploaded them as side by side with the left eye right and the right eye left. This is because you can look at them, cross your eyes and see them in 3-D without glasses. I have seen these clips on a Panasonic 3-D TV and they look stunning.

Incidentally, perhaps you guys might like to see my 3-D animated short. Just type in Swan Lake Safety Pins into YouTube and it will come up in flat and 3-D versions. It took a LOT of work to make it.

Here's another. It is very 3-D at the end. usually gets a "wow" from the audience.

There is a viewer you can download if you have anaglyph glasses or a shutter system tv which will output whatever format you want from the raw side by side frames. The Panasonic will do it as well although I have only tested it with a DVD and not a file on a USB data stick.

So the big question ... what is or will be the standard? Kinda like VHS versus Beta, who will win. Making 3D in the wrong format will be the loser sucker bet. It may be some time before a standard is decided on.

As a producer, Don, you do not have to worry about the broadcasting standard. You just have to produced high quality raw footage, one clip per eye. It will be compatible with all broadcasting system and TV sets.

Exactly. From 2 clips (left / right eye) you can make any possible stereoscopic 3D format. I usually make additional cross-vision clip which nowadays can be viewed with most players.
