How much time passed until you get your first sale?

I just am interesting in this because I have any sale until now which is a little bit frustrating Probably I am just TOO impatient. Regards Scott

First time i uploaded a batch of 100+ clips took about 2 month to make my first sale..I was a little disappointed because I joined the site expecting to end up rolling in doe but the truth is the only people making a lot of money on here are the guys who have the best footage/sound effects/ photos and the lowest pricing. To be honest the clips you uploaded are a bit over priced and most people are not looking for songs... Try to upload as much as you can and make sure to tag your stuff as best you can to get the most views...

Good luck bro.

HI Sacha

I disagree strongly with your about the people that do best have "the lowest pricing". I would argue the opposite!

Look at the Artists Resources to see who is making the real money. The do not do it with low prices!

With only six files online you may never get a sale in reality. I also believe the "low prices" is counter to making a profit. The guys making the best payouts are not low priced. Low price sets a level of expectations. Maybe low prices portrays low quality. I've been here since the beginning. Quality is what matters along with quantity. Low pricing will not pay for new cameras, computers, internet, travel, time, memory, tripods etc etc.
Good luck and yes patience is needed.
Get a thousand online and then see what happens.

Hey guys
I dont mean you make the most money from low pricing what I meant was that thats how you can get files to sell faster because if you have a clip for $20 and someone else is selling a similar clip $40 likeliness is that the $20 one is going to sell more but will yield a small profit ...But yea I get what your saying the guys with the $400 clips are the ones making the most off this site cause to have something at that price range you must have a killer shot or a sweet camera.

Sure a lot of bottom feeders here lately with cheap $200.00 cameras.
SachaDale 29 Aug 2012 16:05
Lol my camera wasn't $200 ...but yes I get what you mean more and more people joining up on pond5 to sell low quality clips...
ThatBeat 29 Aug 2012 16:16
Hi AndyMusicProductions and welcome!
I joined Pond5 in august 2011 and got my first sale in december. I started with a very small portfolio, maybe 5-6 files, but I'm uploading one track per week as an average. Stock music it's not my main income though.
RekindlePhoto made great points: Upload as much as you can and in the best quality you can, set your prices not too low and yes, patience is needed! :)
Nice music by the way.
Good luck!

David
