'Revenue Generated' instead of 'Number of Sales'

Replacing the search criteria, 'Number of Sales' with 'Revenue Generated' would force people to stop lowballing prices to try to reach the top of the list.

Many people are pricing material low to try to generate rapid sales and get the lead on search priority 'Number of Sales.'

Please change that category to 'Revenue Generated.' That would move quality material to the front of that category instead of a bunch of $10 junk.

The list would then be leading with quality stuff that sells because it is worth $, much more valuable to sellers and buyers.

I second that motion... Oh and some communication from p5 as far as status of stuff would be nice too. there are really no excuses for not staying consistent with the news letter, the blog and so on. it is really starting to look like a weak operation in the publics eyes and becoming more difficult to promote/defend this org.

yup, agree. Stop the encouraging of low ball prices by making the number sold more important than the dollar sold. Any or all business is based on profit and never on quantity sold. Quantity is only important if it generates a higher overall long term profit. Why are we seeing lots of new photos that are priced at $2 for all sizes. There seems to be an influx of photos priced lower than rf123. We were told to standby for a big influx of higher priced photos ... still waiting to see this large number.

Raise minimum pricing on HD and photos. Now rf123 isn't a solid contract obligation maybe get moving towards what the artists seem to want. If P5 can remove and replace rf123 photos with direct uploads why are we still stuck on the rf negotiated prices as being the standard?

A product that has sold ten times for $10 should be a much lower search priority than a single sale at $100. Value is more important to all of us, help hold the profession together.

I agree to all the above. As well as would love to see more focus on the quality of media here in promotions, not the low prices (Like "Prices start at just $5 for stock video").

+1 for "revenue" category!

Request if possible a response from Pond5 on the potential of this idea as a replacement for # of sales.

Think this is a great idea although I can see why it might scare some buyers off if they see several $500 clips at the top of the list!

+1

Often the $500 clips sell only once so I think it would also be a good mix of the $50 ones that have sold a lot. It would be a lot more like the number of sales looked like before lowballing got out of control.

Agree Jake, this month better than last several months.

Even SS stopped using the slogan "make money with your hobby". It's not a hobby to many of us, it a living and a job. It's our income and many are concerned about the cheapness and implied encouragement of low pricing. When the "hobby" left SS the sales went up significantly. When the prices went up at SS the income went up significantly. And yes when the marketing increased due to the IPO the sales went up significantly. When the web site was upgraded at SS the sales went up significantly.
.
Humm so professional instead of hobby; Prices were increased; Marketing increased and a New upgraded web site ... yup over a 300% commission increase and even bigger income boost to the agency.

Most of us are very loyal to P5, it is our home and we take pride in it due to the income and how it got started. As our retail stock seller we just need more info on what's going on and need to see some improvement to keep ahead of the rest. Even artists that in the past never had a harsh word are now chiming in. The Adobe teamwork is good but if that is all that can be done in over a year while sales suffered and cheapness took hold a little more help needs to be hired. P5 goes to all the conferences but is the return at these really worth the money if little other highly visible marketing is ongoing. How about a team-up with Adobe where P5 is mentioned in a TV ad? Millions of small businesses don't know that P5 even exists.
