I got a review of the new Sony HDR FX1000 from B&H Photo this morning, here is the link:

Very low lux at 1.5 and 3 new sensors cmos. Looks interesting.

Hi Norman,
I received the same email. I was looking at it and it seems to be pretty nice. I like the low lux and the cmos sensors, true 24p. Also the 20x zoom is great.
The $1900.00 price is a steal.
I have the FX1 so this would be a great upgrade.
I'm still trying to decide on where I want to go with my upgrade but this is everything I want and won't break the bank.

Hi Jake,

This Sony almost seems too good to be true. I was looking to upgrade next year to the Canon XH-A1 at nearly $6k, yet the Sony at $2k would seem to be an immediate upgrade when available and be suited to the stock clip business, mainly because of it's cost effectiveness.

Seems like the price changed on the B&H website to $3199

What a OOOPS. I wonder how many pre-orders they had at $1900 before they found the typo.
You were right, it was too good to be true....
Well, at $3100, I'm back to the Canon.

I'm still interested even at $3100, what makes the Canon better for you Jake?

I like Canon's image processor. I've seen what that can do. Also the Zeiss lens.
I guess I would want to see what this new Sony can do, we'll have to wait until they start selling and see some actual footage and real world reviews.
That low lux is a real selling point for the Sony, I have to say.

I was thinking of the XH-A1 or the XL-H1a. I know the H1a is at $6000 but it certainly does everything I would ever want.

Thanks Jake, it's always great to hear ideas. I'm thinking of pre ordering the Sony.

Here are the specs for the Sony

It is looking better all the time. I like the larger LCD and at 921K pixels, it's almost HD.

I like the size of the LCD, the low lux of 1.5, progressive capability, the cmos senors (lower battery drain) 20x zoom

Would like to see some footage in comparison to the Canon.
