Sort and results.

I've brought this up many times and never an answer. There are big differences between search results when sorting by default, date uploaded, duration, name, number of sales, page views and price. In all cases when using the same search keywords the resulting number of clips shown should be the same, just the sort order changed.

Here's an example:
Use keywords "Despain, Alaska, Skagway"

Default gives 58 clips and 14 photos. All of the other sort gives ZERO footage or photos. Why should default show results and the others don't? Not a good thing for artists.

Example Two:
Keywords "Despain, Venice"
Default sort shows 107 footage and 177 photos. All other sorts show nothing.

Here's one based on Vadervideo comet footage.
Using Tuscon, speed, comet NO RESULTS! The location of Tucson is not searched.

Using speed, comet default 153/127/9/8 default results. All other sorts show ZERO results.

This is a very expensive problem to artists when buyers miss out on see products

V1 and V2.

Can we get a fix, an urgent fix on this one. It's not cosmetic or fluff but the heart of sales.

Don this is serious, I've found the same - this need to go in the Pond5 artists section (where Kennon and Ryan are) or direct "help" email so it's seen by admin.

Searching for video only with a keyword of Olympics:

Default - 4699
Any other category of search - 690

Video only keyword London
Default - 9713
Any other - 5197

"Olympic Opening Ceremony"
Default - 71
Any other - 20 (all mine!)

I was showing a buyer some of my work on his computer. I kept getting no results, I thought my account was gone! He had latest download set as his default sort. After I got home I realized that in order to really find anything "default" had to selected or little to nothing shows.

I have sent a message to Ryan when posted here. No response yet.

I think Ryan is on vacation :-), I sent him a PM the other day too.

edit: I take that back, he fixed my problem!

Can you guys provide me some screenshots of what you're seeing? Are you simply changing the option in the dropdown menu or are you changing the option and then clicking on the "search" button again?

Looks ok now, thanks. Just need to make it fool proof so buyers can see everything in all sorts. For a buyer or user it should not matter if a pull down is selected either with or without a new "search" click. When products are sorted the buyer doesn't care what the backend software is doing and has to believe all products are shown based on keywords and sort.

Thanks Ryan for checking into it - still showing anomalies though.
Looks as though all options are reporting the same numbers except "default"

Using Chrome V2, Selecting video only:

Cat default 9113 all other options 8961
Dog default 11704 all other options 11571
Woman default 144340 all other options 167387

Works perfectly here in both V1/V2
