self-ranking of clips

it would help pond5 a lot of we could self- rank our clips. so we as artists would choose which clips we think are our best, sorted to worst, and then it can be used in the sort rankings.

when we rank our own clips, they would be ordered, so if we had 1,000 clips we would give each one a different rank from 1 to 1,000. so it would not be possible to give the same rank to more than one clip, or to give the highest rank to many clips.

there is no incentive for a user to promote bad clips, so naturally the seller is going to want his best clips to be given the highest ranks.

I have found or actually given up trying to second guess what buyers want. Hence, some of my clips that I may have personally thought less of, actually became really good sellers. I would not want to even think about ranking my own clips. It is just more work on top of everything else. Besides, I would most likely rank everything as perfect. ;)

David, let's say I ranked my 1000 clips. Now I add 100 clips. Do I have to rank 1100 clips again?

Why the heck would I kill sales on any clip by saying its "not my best but please buy it"?

That is the same as the comment section. I disagree with that too. Someone puts a bad comment on a video and you can bet that will weigh in the mind of a buyer.

tiberio are you seriously going to rank all 3400+ clips you have and repeat the process each time you add 1 or more videos?

When a new clip is added, it merely would end up at the bottom of the rank.

You guys should all be jumping up for joy at the ability to do something like this, instead of having your clips shown in a somewhat random manner.

this idea will allow pond5 to sort all the videos with 0 views, 0 downloads, etc.
