Template or Batch Tag errors in keyword

RekindlePhoto 19 Sep 2013 14:58
On numerous times when using the Batch Tag / Template option for footage the keywords are not the same number. For example: The template has 50 keywords. The first use of template into a selected footage results in 48 keywords then the next use results in 49 keywords. Which keywords are dropped then added. Really don't have time to check each individual keyword on every clips when trying to make a living do this.

Hey Don,

Please send me a screenshot of the error you're seeing so I can pass it on to the dev team with a visual representation of the bug at ryan@pond5.com.

Thanks,

Thanks for all of the reply I and I know many other artist appreciate your work and communications with us. BUT, a screen shot; first of all the number of keywords are hidden under the window as brought up by another artist already. A screen shot will not make it any more clear on what happens.

1. Fill out the keywords in the batch tag template for footage. Put in 50 keywords and it says 50.
2. Apply the template to another footage and the keyword count was then 48 in the new footage edit page.
3. Applied the template to another and the keyword count was 49.
4. Did it again a couple more times and keyword count stayed at 49.

Interesting. I'll try and duplicate your results and see if I can get the same error, and send this to the dev team in the mean time.

I added the hidden # of keywords bug to our task list earlier this week and I can assure you it's being worked on as we speak. That rhymed!

Thanks again.

When using the batch tag video option my keywords are forced into alphabetical order. They do not enjoy being forced into anything, least of all alphabetical order. Thank you.

And not always in alphabetical order, some of them are randomly placed here and there. Sure wish P5 would tell us why and how it helps us or if it makes no difference lets us put them in the order we want.

I suspect that the order of keywords makes a big difference, that's always been my impression anyway. I pasted the keywords in correct order in on the My Uploads>Clip Details page.

I've tried to re-arrange, sometimes they stick mostly not ... kinda random.

I've confirmed with our search folks that all keywords are weighed evenly, so it is not important for you to place them in any particular order. We're talking to dev as well to have the keywords be displayed in the same order as how you're entering them, too.

Thanks, our order is easy to help us maintain a metadata file, the randomness and keywords changing places really causes problems for many of us when trying to maintain an accurate metadata base. Almost all other agency (if not all of them) still use the top five keywords as priority like P5 used to do.
Thanks.
