Christmas vs. christmas - Key word caps?

Looking at the search terms list I see that christmas (all lower case) and Christmas (capitalized) are accounted for as separate search terms. Is the search engine case sensitive?

The search engine is case insensitive.

Ok thanks...it through me off when yesterday (but not today anymore) they were both listed as lower and upper.. - this is good now.

But still, when you enter a 'christmas' in Keywords it warns this is wrong keyword and wants to have a 'Christmas'. But in keywords list all words are in small letters. Can somebody explain the idea of this? The same with country names, city names and many more words.

In my opinion, keywords should NOT be case sensitive. Now everyone not only has to guess what keywords buyers might use to find clips, but also guess on the capitalization that might be used.

That just leads to a LOT more keywords per clip.

no more case sensitive. Many times I just type everything in lower case because less chance of making a typo with my fat fingers. Search should not be case sensitive and in fact should search based on first 4 or 5 characters of a word. Such as "christmas, Christmas, christm, and Christm should all result in "christmas footage being found. This way spelling errors and mnor typos are covered especially to us non-typers, poor spellers and foreign friends.

If you're using a contemporary browser, they have built in spell checking in the html http://www.w3schools.com/TAGS/tag_textarea.asp. This spell check warns about spell errors and some simpler grammatical ones such as capitalization.

There is a simple stemmer in the database that ensures it's no difference searching for "christmas" or "christma" etc. It's far from perfect but it can be taught when it does wrong:
