With the way the economy is going anyone else agree or think that Stock footage may become more in demand as companies/agencies want to shoot less or spend less on all out video productions next year ?

I agree, some agencies will turn more to stock footage since it's much cheaper then sending out a crew to get the same footage.

yes and actually increase their advertising to try and increase their slumping sales. Just look at TV, there are already many companies advertising that generally you never see commercials for. (at least here in Canada)

All we get here on TV is a couple sitting in tubs holding hands and waiting for the right moment.

I had the same thought the other day. My sales have increased since the down turn .... This current pay period is the best I have had.

I suspect that it has something to do with the marketing crew here at Pond5. October through December are traditionally string months and my sales do well at other places. But on Pond5 sales are incredible. Growing at a rate I've never seen anywhere else. That's not just seasonal and ecconomy - that's some seriously efficient marketing.

The first of the month started real well here but since Saturday one a day and missed a couple of days. I still think this month will be ok, just a little slower as we get closer to Christmas and New Years. Jan should pop better with a new year and new funds for businesses. Although many producers may have money that they must spend before the end of the year. Definite upswing in sales, P5 is doing a great job!
