There is another site that is doing OK, they have a fee for submitting.
(but actually I don't have to pay the fee because I was invited)
ANYWAY... they make it a REQUIREMENT that the buyer has to credit the artist in the documentary. Is there anyway Pond5 could have this feature?

That is pretty awesome. Do they credit the artist or 'pond5'?

That would be awesome for things like documentaries and movies. I think everyone got the same invite ;)

They credit the artists name. They think its more professional, and really it is, traditionally people are always credited for their work. I don't know how many clips Ive sold and as far as I can tell ive never been credited.
Im considering uploading my best stuff on that other site, I don't want to be doing stock forever, and I need to build credits for a lot of reasons. Ive brought this up before, I think its weird pond5 doesnt have a response. Actually Ive always thought it was weird the buyers remained anonymous ??! I don't have the time, inclination or incentive to steal 'clients' away from pond5 if I wanted to deal with customers I would make my own stock site.
lol DOn you asked me about it :P
unless there is another site that does that as well .... ???
btw the ice storm here is pretty bad, my power has been off for 9 hours... I can see my breath and there is ice on the inside. Of course the first thing I did when the power went back on was to check pond5 :P
Actually I think its going to go out again the lights keep flickering.

You have your priorities straight Ironstrike!
Don't feel left out varius , I have no idea which site they are talking about either.
Sheldi, why don't you have the buyer credit the source?

Hey guys. We're thinking about requesting (probably not requiring) crediting of artists, as well as giving the end users more opportunities to tell the artist (and the rest of us) where the work gets used.
Its burdensome to demand too much of buyers, and a good part of the reason we've been successful so far is because we've made it very easy and friction-free to license a clip from us.
We don't provide buyer info to artists by default primarily because of privacy issues. If you all could see some of the silly customer service mails we deal with, you would understand why we don't want to inundate purchasers with requests from the artists.
However, it's a great point and something we'll definitely look into. Ironstrike, feel free to drop me a sitemail/email with details about this place -- it's always good to know what the competition is up to. :)

Thanks Tom!
I guess if it alienates buyers that's bad news, but you could always http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reframing the issue somehow and make the buyers feel more professional if they do it.
Yes I HATE dealing with customers and thier weird demands lol!
Sorry to any buyer reading this, but its true :P
