No Firmware for Canon 5DM2

Well looks like Canon is not going to come through with a Firmware update for the 5Dm2.

This is a major disappointment. Im now just waiting for Nikon's Next FF camera. I will bet it has better Video recording. It wont take much for me to switch back to Nikon as there are many things I just dont like about Cannon cameras.

Well, it's just another rumor and guesses as the rest.
We'll see what Canon has up their sleeve but my guess is they are done with the 5D since it continues to sell at an alarming rate.
And a new body with the fixes will come out.

I'm sure Nikon is listening to the complaints too and will come out with something.

Well, that does sound hopeful.
Thanks for the update.

Sorry Jake, the update is for new manufacture Canon 5D Mk IIB ... ;(

Damn, I can't win.
Actually, I think the firmware update is the new Nikon that will have all the fixes that Canon won't fix on the MKII LOL

Im thinking some of these sites are exploiting the hopes of people to drive traffic to thier site. Where did they get this information?

Personally I don't care if they ever have a firmware update. I don't think I would bother to install it.

Official announcement has been made by Canon: Manual control of aperture, shutter speed and ISO in the firmware update to be released on June 2.

Sweet! This will make life a whole lot easier.

WOW that is good news.
I'm not sure that I would use Canon lenses though. I'm too used to using my manual Nikon lenses.
I would like to be able to pick the shutter speed though.
