Pricing - Increase with possitivity.

Hi guys,

I know that pricing here on P5 is always in discussion as some authors sell very cheap for a quick sell, while others value their work higher and will not provide low costs, which I totally understand - we don't want to devalue the marketplace.

As im sure you all know, P5 recently upped the minimum price from $5 to $15 for audio items, I am guilty of having relatively cheaply priced items, however their prices are still nearly double that of the same item on other sites which I have no control of price.

I wanted to to let you know that items of mine such as logo intros that were $5 which are now $15 are selling with the same frequency, which means for me and increase from $2.50 to $7.50 (3x), with no extra effort. Additionally I upped all the prices of my other work and they too are selling just as well as they were before, but now for a higher price.

So I just wanted to reach out and let you know that you dont need to be worried that your sales might drop if you up your price, after all, if you sell 4 tracks a week at $15, and then up them to $30 and only sell 2 tracks a week, your still getting the same income.

I know this has been talked to death, but I just wanted to share that I have had a very positive experience from the latest price increase and I hope you all do to :)

Over the last 2 weeks I have seen a rise of around 20-25% per week in income, while selling the same amount of items.

Cheers,
- Kristopher

don't talk too loud...the 10$ artist could understand the trick...😃

This is proof of what others have talked about and experienced first hand for themselves. Setting prices too low seems to only hurt the industry and you end up in the ever decreasing price "death spiral". It's nice to here that you had positive experience raising your prices with no ill effect from sales. Awesome!

Wow,after countless thread about prices you still had to be forced to increase prices? So many authors said that increasing prices brought them only higher earnings but people still like to sell for cheap until they are forced to value their work.
I'm glad P5 made this decision.

which decision branco??

And that's why I love P5. We can decide on how value our work. We, not the competitor system... Did good work? Why not expect good price for it? Respect yourself if you want others to respect you.

As a customer, I am not happy with the price increase.

In fact, Pond5 has really gone down in several areas. All music tracks are now totally miscategorized... a lot of them suck... and now the minimum is $15... time to see what else is out there.
