It a business ;) Trying to meet customers needs and requirements as quickly as possible.

It's a business that requires a bit of both. At least that's how I see it.

I think mastering the craft is the easy part... finding the artistic part of your inner self is the challenging part. Especially when you get rejections, it is discouraging and you second guess yourself.

There are no absolutes as I see it. The business, art, craft, and the science of it are all critical components of not just stock, but anything else beyond that ....such as making a documentary or a movie.

I agree there are no absolutes, but I tend to think that stock is more craft than art.
