Change Clip Thumbnail?

Hi all, fairly new here, but I see a lot of great work. Quick question, I've been trying to change the thumbnail image on some clips, and found in the forums answers about "my pond > uploads . change thumbnail from the dropdown menu at the bottom of the page."

This answers were about a year old, and the only thing I can find is "still frame offset" but when I select a clip, and pick a frame, it says processing but the thumbnail never seems to change.

Is "still frame offset" how you change a clip's thumbnail?
If so, how long should that take? About 10 minutes and no change...

Thanks for any tips! I just have a couple clips showing a blank white frame, which looks rather boring!

I used the still frame offset on my initial uploads this weekend and it worked. Here is a link to the clip. http://www.pond5.com/stock-footage/593218

It's a pan shot. Notice where it starts. I did not want that to be the clip frame, so I changed it to a frame that shows the cabin cruiser in the middle of the channel.

In my experience it can take up to an hour for it to take effect.

I use the frame offset and it only took minutes to work.

I'm sure this is similar to what others are finding, but I'll share my experience here...

I have been unable to successfully change thumbnail images for any of my clips. I've attempted editing the thumbnail on many different clips using both the 'still frame offset' command from the dropdown menu appearing at the bottom of my profile's overview page and from the 'still frame offset' link available when I attempt to edit clips individually.

I get a processing window, but even after 3-4 hours of waiting for the change to take effect nothing changes.

MGdesign, did you ever have any luck? Any tips for users who aren't having success?

I forgotten this thumbnail problem and spend no time anymore selecting thumbnail, because it does not work as supposed to work.

I don't think the "processing" window will ever update as it's not intended to be a task status window. Once it changes to the text list of clips to work on, that's your lot for that window and you can close it.

You might find that the old thumbnails are cached on your PC and the new one isn't automatically downloaded. After a while (to let the server processes do their bit) I normally find a Refresh (IE short cut key: ctl r) on the Search results does the trick.

It is most likely a cache issue on your local system - a refresh as Gitfinger states does the trick regardless of browser.
