How much money per month do you make from Pond5?

I was wondering if it's worth it to spend a lot of time uploading footage. So I'm asking about how much people earn per month.
Thank you.
Thank you.

hi.
$500-600/month currently (i mean here, on pond5 alone), so , not the best example, but still:
numbers are not very relevant. as cliche as it sounds, it depends on lots of factors. some make a looot of money with small portfolios but which are in high demand, some make small amounts with larger portfolios. it depends on demand, trends in media, good description/tagging, google, how regularly u do the uploading, how diverse your portfolio is, what the site modifies on its structure, site's management decisions and people/staff changes, competition, motivation, your financial urgency, period of the year, seasons, time passing (you will presumably earn better with time and of course sustained activity), the membership thing, local currency exchange fluctuations, etc.
it is worth it, if u can afford to dream. initially i had much bigger expectations. after a while, if i was to think back, i asked myself whether i would have still done it if i had known beforehand what i would earn. its a rollercoaster. in the end, p5 provides sales and they are not varying a lot (i mean, for a particular contributor), but they do vary enough to make u question (or make me question) whats going to be next, what else can i do, where else can i upload etc.
at some point, i knew someone with less than 100 clips making a lot of money. so it depends on many variables, thatz why giving numbers is not relevant.
spread your stuff on multiple sites, and i guess have determination and treat it like a day job.
id have to say that u kind of have to be a fool to get into this. sort of a dreamer and unrealistic. but, given u are aware of multiple sites and possibility to earn from different venues, u can probably make a living.
maybe a very small percent makes a great living, maybe 15-20% make just a living, and maybe 80% give it up in the first months and get a real-er job.
it depends on u to not give up and keep dreaming.
some day, you might be in the top.
cheers.
p.s.: i dont upload video.
p.p.s.: again, im not the classic example, u can make my amount easily with obviously a lot less clips, it's a partly explainable strange situation in my case, but i wont go into that.

You will not get many Artists reply to this question especially since it's in the open forum instead the closed Artists section.

"maybe a very small percent makes a great living, maybe 15-20% make just a living, and maybe 80% give it up in the first months and get a real-er job."
And maybe upwards of 50% are happy making a little extra to help with the bills each month, but not enough to even be close to making a living at it. They part time load things, and they part time get paid, and are happy doing it. I know I am...

Most people don't want to give numbers out. Because why would you want to encourage your potential competition? If I told you I make 10,000 a month of course you and a thousand other people are going to join and make it harder for me to make money.
The most solid advice is, if you do a mediocre job and in your spare time, you will likely make money based on your efforts. If you excel at taking videos/photos/music and you treat it more like a job, you will likely over time a decent amount. If you are great at capturing these things and treat it like a Career, you may be able to make a living off of it. But nothing is stock is easy money or get rich quick.

My guess is probably less than 1% of the artists here make a living off of stock media.

I put something up on this topic earlier today, edited it because of some spelling mistakes and it disappeared, never mind!
Long story short i got the famous email this morning with the dancing GIF animation and congratulations on selling footage on Pond5. Newbie keeping my head down, not a care or worry in the world about sales because i have just started out in this game. But i can tell you this, i was buzzing all day long, an incredible feeling.
Massive thanks to the buyers, Pond 5 and the people on this forum for their solid advice and knowledge.
