Artist Portfolio After a Name Change

Anyone ever change their username before? On a whim, I changed mine the other day, and now I have no artist portfolio. Any idea how long it takes for the database to rebuild that?

I don't see your PF, I've changed my username 3 months ago and never had this problem related to name's change.

Well, the mini portfolio shows up, but when you click on view portfolio, nothing is found. Same with a search on artist and my new name, or a click through, to view portfolio, from one of my clips

They're all there if you sort by "page views". Any other sorting option shows zero results.

I changed mine a few months ago - the only issue I has was related to FTP but it was minor indeed.

I would give it till Monday to refresh and then if it's not working, contact Marcus.

Do ya'll think a name change could help or hurt? If buyers frequently search by artist then that name is gone do ya think that could hurt?

Same thing happened when I did it. It was fixed in a few days automatically.

Phantomewo you make a good point. I never even thought about that when i made the change. I have always thought more in terms of people finding what they are looking for by keywords, rather than by artist, but you could be right, I may loose some sales over this. Hopefully the regular buyers will soon recognize some of the clips they have already purchased and catch on to the name change.

Keep us informed over the next month or so by weekly sales. It would be interesting to see if there is a short term impact. When I started several years ago I selected my name like a CB radio handle and not my actual photo business name. I was thinking the same but not sure of any negative impact.
