Time for a contest ... Get Ready

Ok guys and gals, it's time for a contest. Time to just have fun and see what we can put together and enjoy. How about a weekly video contest. Let's keep it simple but have a few basic rules. Maybe Marcus can figure out a way to vote and on the videos to award a great "virtual" Blue ribbon ... along with 2nd and 3rd losers.
Ok, my idea of basic rules:
1. Video must be approved for sale here at P5
2. You must be person who shot and edited clip.
3. Main subject of clip must match weekly description
4. Only one video per artist per week
5. Only can make one vote per week, can't vote for self
6. Submission start each Monday at 00:01 am
7. Voting lasts one week after new week starts
8. For first week keyword one clip with "week1"
9. Don't submit until weekly contest starts
10. Encourage buyers to vote also, one vote per person only.

Open for suggestions.

*** First week starts Monday am. Subject "Wildlife, not domestic", started 2 Jun 08 NYC time.
*** Second week Subject "Clip must be B&W, no color" ... get ready and get one submitted.
*** Third week "flowers"
*** Fourth week "Emotion"
*** Fifth Week "Pollution"
*** Sixth Week "Celebration"
*** Seventh Week "Sunset / sunrise"
*** Eighth Week "Action" (starts 21 Jul)
*** Ninth Week "Short movie" note: at least three scene changes
*** Week 10: Summer
*** Week 11: Medical/Health
*** Week 12: chaos/mayhem
*** Week 13: Fluid
*** Week 14: Love
*** Week 15: Teaching / Learning
*** Week 16: Technology
*** Week 17: Energy

Well, you know me, I'm for anything that makes me think of new ideas.

"Wildlife, not domestic", do you mean not domesticated animals like dogs or cats?
Or do you mean I have to travel to Africa to get some shots of elephants?

And can it be something that you already have online? If its something new we have the queue that the video may not be online until the 2nd or 3rd week of the contest.

Not family type pets, i.e. no dogs cats, horses, sheep or family birds. Can be zoo but should not look like a zoo picture.
Yup use what ya'll have on line or think will be before end of next week.
That's why I suggested a subject for two weeks for now so hopefully they can get through queue before then.
Any ideas or suggestions? Any subject ideas for following weeks to give time to plan. Maybe three weeks in advance is plenty of time.
Just for fun.

edit:
hummmm African Safari, I have a contact that we could do an African Safari, how about 21 days for less than $2000 plus travel to and back from South Africa. I need to sell lots more clips and then maybe ;)

Ok, I'm on my way to Brazos Bend State park in about an hour.
They have a huge wildlife population from birds to alligators. Maybe I'll get something there.

Anyone else interested?

Sure, but a week is way too short.

The clip does not need to be taken the week of the contest. That would be too difficult with review times. I think a weekly is good cause it allows us to explore four different subjects. With some suggestions we can setup the subjects well in advance so new footage can be setup and captures and still have time to get it approved.

I'm editing a clip that I shot in the swamp yesterday. I think this one will win so there is no need for anyone else to enter :-)

Jake suggested, so week 3 will be "Flowers"

Except that if it can't be submitted until the week of the contest and it's taking an average of two weeks to get approval at the moment... :)
