Conspicuous lack of female videographers

Interesting, the first three posters in this thread have stopped submitting footage.

I see one in the mirror every day :)

@wideweb you're statement is incorrect. Only one of the three has not submitted any clips since 2009.

Last submission was January 2013. Consider them as absentees.

I need to start looking at dates on these things, Sandi is probably rocking in a chair in a nursing home by now.

I'm a female videographer =)

I've been into "playing" with a videocamera since I was 15 years old (I'm 30 now). Yikes I feel like i should be much more skilled for 15 years haha. But I've only been doing stock for just over a year. I agree on the technical aspects of why more female videographers aren't around. I also think they are much likely less to speak up on the forums as well. It is slightly intimidating to speak up in any male dominated industry I think. I don't feel it so much myself because I've always been a different kind of girl. I used to skateboard, and now I snowboard and play the drums. I also love cars and work in auto industry. I just happen to have hobbies and interests that more guys are into than girls. But I do everything I do because it's fun for me not because it's a male or female thing. =)
I hope more females chip in too; it'd be nice to talk to you all!

I think men just are not as busy and have time to play a little more with cameras. We dream of making it big and women are just more down to earth and responsible.
