Merging Formats - How is the that done here?

Only the Curator can combine different formats. Just make a note in the "notes to curator" section that it "matches clip #whatever" and they'll handle it for you.

Well, perhaps I am not stating this in Pond5 vocab. Jason tells me that if I upload an HD clip in the proper file type, Pond5 automaticly offers it for downconversion to customers, Very cool,

Are they going to add "sales numbers" of the clip when they combine formats? Top sellers are shown higher position in pond5 so this is very important.

Last time I asked the curator if they can add or not, he just ignored my email and never combined formats... It meant no? I believe the curator's sales numbers are total of all formats(can be 4 or 5 formats). It means they have 4,5 times more chance to get higher position in "sort by sales number" or "default" settings.

If the curator is arond, please answer this question.

So there are really two ways to deal with multiple formats? 1. Pond5 automaticly generates the option as NTSC or PAL if an HD.mov file is uploaded. 2. You can upload them all and add a note to the curator to combine the files and present them on the same image when it comes up. Correct?

If you what to waste your time uploading three versions of the same clip go ahead and you don't need any bodies permission. But since P5 can convert an HD clip to what ever size or format a customer needs why do it.

A 10 sec clip can be anywhere's between 100-500Mbs and take up to 1 1/2 - 3 hours to upload or less depending on your uploading speed..

Thanks for the info Jason. I appreciate it. I really don't know my way around the system here so I needed some information to make choices. I am not sure what the buyer sees when they are searching - all the formats always together or appearing independently. Having all formats available on the same clip could make a big difference in sales and ranking. It does at istockphoto. Anyway, I uploaded a vast amount of all formats via ftp so I'll attempt to merge them via the curator and do a test run over time to see what performs...

could you post a link to an example of a shot that has had merged formats? Something like Smudlack's option 2. Thx

I know all other sites has that feature but not on P5, or am I missing something? Can you post any web page of P5 that has setting or button to do what you are talking about?

Did I miss something? Pond5 can auto-downsize clips now? I didn't see an announcement on that.
