Pond5 Is by far the best Stock Video ... PERIOD!

It's best to spread your portfolio around. I've had down days/weeks/months on Pond5 and during those times the other sites picked up. And Pond5 picks up when the other sites are down.

Also, the different sites have different buyers... Every single one of my clips that sell multiple times each week here on Pond5 are on several other sites where they sell rarely. But clips I have on those sites sell when they don't sell here.

I do have to echo what Don says, however... I have stuff here that was rejected on other sites and has sold here, in some cases multiple times. I have one clip that sells at least 2 or 3 times a month that was rejected on 3 other sites.

So while there are clips here that I think are totally horrible, inevitably many of them sell. You just never know what someone will need.

Im sorry but I don't think their reviewers work in show business. They may be good at judging photos. I think Istock has done a good job because they started early. Pond5 started in 2006 and they are already 2nd place for most people if not 1st for some.

Try some searches using different sort filters just for fun. You will be amazed at how the content has matured from its gangly youth stage just 3 years ago, to the sophistication and depth it shows today.

It not a numbers game. It's that istock has attempted to find a market and develop it. Pond5 is a different animal. Istock caters to it's buyers and works it's niche. All clips are vetted for copyright and legal issues. Quality control is high. No HDV artifacting files get on. They reject files because they lack an organizing concept or have poor artistic composition. Lower hassle factor for the buyer less stress and worry. Seems to work. Hoping to work a different game here.

hmm, the reviewers on istock accepted all of my most basic CGI. They didn't believe that I was capable of making some of my more complex CGI. So they asked for more proof that I made them. Proof that I gave them and they still didnt understand it.

From my point of view they were setting the quality control bar low. If they expect artists to create CGI that is more "Basic"

This is a competitive atmosphere, prices are set by the artists, quality will emerge through a natural selection process of which the buyers choose.

P5 is HEAVEN!

As I have just started to closely look at the IS submit process I start to see what many of you have echoed...... am I reading this correctly ???.... they require a low-rez MP4 proxy version of your clips BEFORE you submit the actual clips ????

Is THAT what you have to do over there ????..... tell me it ain't soooooooo !
