I like this one a lot. Took me a long time to figure out how to do a good galaxy. I wish the background stars showed through a little more in the preview though.

Nice shot! I´m wondering what hardware resources are necessary to do something like this smoothly? My actual PC would probably "die" right away, but I´ll upgrade soon.

I can guess that time-lapse of LA with clouds (mwd86) you can do from ~10Mp still images using AE, but may be I'm wrong.

zygistudio is right. It could definitely be done that way in AE. The picture size is much larger than 1920x1080, so you put them into a comp the size of the pictures, open up a 1920x1080 comp and keyframe a pan in the direction you want the "camera" to be moving.

Ive made some fake scenes with AE
but if you want to do it naturally you have to have a motion controled crane like this guy: http://www.timelapsecrane.com/home.html

I have used this technique before with 10 MP stills (not for stock), but for doing a supersized timelapse and panning in it, my PC is not fast enough. That´s why my question was a little directed towards the hardware configuration (cpu,frequ.,ram...). Would a 2009 ed. 17 inch MacBookPro do the job as well (in case I buy one)? Or only a Quad core PC or MAC Pro?
