Well there are lots of stats here at P5 and the moderators have even more. I would hope they look at the clips that are selling and recommend site minimum adjustments based on sales. The low end prices that are suggested by P5 are really a joke. Yes I'm fully aware of volumn sales versus higher cost sales, I've been involved in multi-million dollar businesses I've owned and managed for many years. They were based on minimal profit per sale and in the long run the average store didn't do well. The marketing businesses don't have a problem at all to pay $50 for a short SD and many clips are really worth hundreds. Undercutting each other is not a profitable concept. With that said, everyone can cost at whatever level they feel their time, equipment, gas and travel, etc etc is worth. I'de rather make %50 on one sale than $60 on five sales. Just look at SS ... the photos are given away but the HD videos at $159 each. Don't ya think that maybe SS wishes they had started with a little higher price on the photo side? Ain't this fun ;) 1...1...1...1...1 we're ready for 1 ;)

Jake do you know how to use the artist resources? Go in there and you'll find several boxes type in a price and to the left put in greater than and click go. If you what to know what the artist sold his/her for copy the name and go to search. Paste in the name than type in salegt:0. That will tell you if any clips were sold by that artist and how many times it was sold. This should give you a good idea of what others are doing.

Jason, Thanks for mentioned the artist resources. It is funny to see average sales are around 20-30 US dollars. It is extreme low compare to SS.

I think the average sales is low because when P5 started there were a lot of very low priced clips. As time goes on, many artists are realizing that there is a real expense at making and processing clips and the average price I believe is going up. Maybe P5 can tell on there stats. maybe a comparison on a month to month basis. Looking forward to better profits for everyone. Don

Pond5 should really set a minimum price, and base on this price one can adjust higher, so we are not too much compete with the low price.
