Yes Bryan, this was started by someone who didn't go back and find the old threads. Heck Bryan you beat up on SS more than anyone ;). Maybe the buyers don't like hobby footage either, sales here are far far better than there even with multiple sizes and cheaper prices. Indeed Scott, you are a Pro ... be careful in Las Vegas. They chased the "Pro's" out of town to the ranches ;)

I am also a professional gambler. These days anyone with a business card can instantly become a professional in a field. Or even a website.

I just saw a clip of mine on a commercial for vacations in India. I checked the price I received from IS and it was aprox $17! It was an obscure clip to be sure but HD. I am going back and re-pricing some of my more popular clips here, HD at 60, SD at 40 and Web at 20. We'll see how this works out! I appreciate the input and discussion here very much. It has made me think about pricing and it's dynamics.

I'm not against beating up or bashing SS, really the one I like to hear people bash is IS with there crappy percentages....

... and sucky approval percentages too. I've made many thousands here at P5 that IS rejected due to limitations of camera and inherent camera issues. Heck they hated my Canon XH-A1 and also the 5D MKII ... maybe they just hate me. Oh well their loss. I'm happy here at P5

They all have their rules they follow. It makes sense... but sometimes is very frustrating.

My 10 cents on this discusion is that it takes the same sweat to produce a high quality HD clip and a web clip. Plus I do not think that they are using web clips on websites. I think they are using most of them in regular TV as picture in picture scenes. So, I am not so incline to the idea that P5 auto-convert files to 320x240 and auto-price them. From what I have seen in TV, producers want to drive cost down so much that the are extracting stock videos from Youtube. I see it almost every day in the news and every so often in documentaries. I also think that one day somebody is going to come along and build a stock video site on a 70/30 percentage basis and still make a lot of money. That's 70% for creator - 30% for the emarketing site. Which I feel is the correct profit distribution. A bigger cut for the creator means creator will buy better equiptment which will result in videos of the finest quality which in turn will increase prices which at the end will result in more profit to the emarketing website. These are my thoughs.
