New Sports and Vehicle camera

Don, is this footage as is or did you do some corrections and adjustments to it? Considering the price - I would say it does a fine job!

Nope other than cropping the ends to fit time and converting to .mov it's just what the camera captured. I'm impressed with the contrast, saturation and sharpness. I took a movie with the camera attached directly to my powered parachute. I clamped it to a support near the engine. The vibration at that point was just too much for the camera to handle. I'll try it again this week attached to my helmet, and a chest mount and see how it it then. I suspect it will be very good.

I agree, for $300 I didn't expect that much. But the videos they showed on the TV were BEST conditions. I'll upload the video I took with a 500W light in my bathtub. The damn AWB was going nuts. If you could set the WB I think I'd be a little happier.

Cool vids btw Don. I might need to buy an ATV to use this thing :-)

I'm a little worried about the bathtub scene and light bulb Scott LOL.
The capabilities in such a small package is pretty darn good. I do wish it had a little more manual control and a lcd view to aim better. But for such a lightweight water proof camera it's perfect. For scuba diving it is a great idea. A water proof case costs many times more than this system complete.

I was thinking about getting one but I'm second guessing it now... Someone sent me a link to a pretty nice underwater capable camera awhile ago. Think I might look into that one instead of this one. The go-Pro-Jello is just giving me doubts right now. I'm no expert but I talk to some.

I think you will get a jello look when it is mounted to a part of a vehicle that has a vibration that harmonizes with the frame rate. On my aircraft I could see jello and it changed based on the throttle and frequency of the vibration. It would be interesting to see if the same happens with other cameras, I suspect so.

I guess I just expected way too much out of it. The demo videos they show were just so great, but I imagine they had thousands or more to choose from. The camera is a novelty item, a fun toy to play with. I was just hoping I could get a few good shots to upload to here.

I have not shot any outdoor shots yet with it, since it has been raining here for the last 3 days. I will let you all know how I feel about it after that.

Doh, the thing is waterproof yes? Why not go out in the rain and get stuff you normally couldn't get with a regular camera.. such as a car driving by and splashing you or another victim you can talk into doing so. :)

That is the thing with this camera, get it wet, dirty and don't worry too much about dropping it. Get some shots that a person would not dare get with an expensive DSLR. This is a great camera to experiment with.

Notice around 30 seconds the white balance shifts. Definitely a killer for stock. Other than that it isn't that bad... The original looks a little more noisy than my hv30, but this is expected. Shot with Light Kit, so it isn't low light shooting. Very well lit.
