How Long is Your Queue?

Not that I'm defending iS or their business practices, but I can tell you that my own company where I work tends to gravitate to iS for stock purchases. It's only because of me that we also "shop around." But if I wasn't there, I'm sure they'd be a 100% iS customer.

And I'm sure there are plenty of other companies across the globe that are the same way. So, as a result, I'm there as a contributor. If customers leave, then so will I.

AND they don't have idiot sellers at IS selling great HD for $5-10. If you sell HD here for $30 might as well sell at IS also, you get paid the same. IS and SS has proven that $79-99 and up HD clips sell well. Heck, this month I've had several extended license clips sell at SS where my cut was over $100. If P5 would start an extended license program and also move HD minimums to $40 and then allow artists to price a maximum of 10% of their portfolio lower (keep the bottom dwellers happy) my guess less artists would sell at IS. The commission dollar amount would start to be too much difference and artists would not put up with the crappy data input at IS.

There is more thinking required on part of the contributors.

As I said here a week ago: People upload everything everywhere and lower their price here at Pond5 because this still gives more/sale than at those horrible places like Istock (2 peanuts instead of 1).

The customer does not care as long as the same stuff is available everywhere.

Only the contributors can change that bad business. Maybe think on the longer run than just sales this week.

Yup, the number of sales per week, month or year means nothing. The only metric that has any meaning is commission or profit. $10-30 HD sales prices have no value anywhere and will never pay the costs associated with manufacturing and submitting footage.

My pending files showed up as being online today. The odd thing is that for the first time I didn't get an e-mail from the curator saying my clips had been approved. Maybe that will come tomorrow... but I found it odd.

The anchor clip for this batch was over 4 weeks old.

Like many other things here that do not work as they should. So what else new????

I have a different problem... there are files already online (that was imported by Pond5 staff when sending whole harddrive), but they are marked as editorial, even if check them from my dashboard they HAVE attached releases. I sent message to helpdesk, but they say I should "resubmit" files, but there is no option for resubmit, unless to send to currator. But, if you do send online files to currator again it throws out error, that are already online. What gives?!

Anchor clip is at 30 days now! Help Mr. "Q" we're drowning.

Same 93 clips. Oldest Monday, October 21st. Five weeks. Is anyone getting approvals faster? Would like to be sure its a global site thing and not an error specific to just some of us, such as the sales reporting problems from last week. In that case, an email to staff was necessary to bring the issue to their attention.

I sure hope we are not getting into the "resubmit" mode instead of simple fixes of already uploaded footage.
