Merging Formats - How is the that done here?

At the moment, I don´t have enough clips at sites where they do the websize to judge the possibilities. However, I would be cautious with translating the sales possibilities between different sites. IS forces everyone into the downsizing, P5, fortunately, does not. So they will always have much more variety there and be the first choice of clients looking for webclips.

In my case, preferring the smaller cams because I think that I get better clips with them due to how and where I am shooting (although I could also get an XDCam and rent a helicopter :), it would be a good thing to stress that P5 is not a place where "it´s all HD" but that SD is also available. Most customers right now will buy what they need to maximize their budgets, and standard is standard...

Let´s see what happens. And if nothing happens, I might one good day start to do some downconversions myself and send some DVDs. Any statement from P5 would be much appreciated of course.

It has been worthwhile to post multiple video formats. Although HD is the best quality, NTSC and PAL (SD) continue to reign as the majority broadcast formats and for me these have the largest number of sales.

Sorry to bang this drum again, but I would not consider merging clips, until the search issue is fixed.

I have, via the information gathered in this thread, decided to upload my portfolio - all 900 shots in the multimedia format also. I am using the lower one, not the one amost at the quality of DV. I;ll be selling the at 10 each or for the more historically popular ones, at 15 ea. I converted them this evening with the helpful batch utility called Streamclip in batch files. All this part a snap with Cyberduck and streamclip.

Will you crop the clips or just downsize them?

Normally I would crop them and/or repostion the image as i created the conversion. Tweak tweak. But in this case since there are over 800 files I used the batch conversion utility on Streamclip to do it and Cyberbuck to upload them in mass. The whole set-up process took about 3 hours. My estimatedupload time was 148 hours! I got up in the middle of the night to check and it was down to 35 hours.

I just uploaded differently sized versions of one of my clips and sent a message to the curator. The clips where not merged, though. Now my (small) portfolio already looks cluttered...
