Introducing myself - hi everybody

Hi! I am totally new to this but have uploaded in excess of 500 shots most of which are still going through curator stage.
However, some of my work is already approved and up and running so please have a look.
No downloads at time of writing but it has only been a couple of days. :-)
Pricing? Tags? Learning curve.
One question: If I let curator set price, at what point to I find out what price he has set? Sometimes the price changes when I am fiddling around with templates but have no way of knowing if it is just the template.
I am operating on the basis that the curator must know what he is doing. If I make money so does Pond5 after all.
I have created an engine which will convert whatever I do into other formats so long as they are lower resolution than my master shot. ie I will downsize from 720P to say NTSC but not upscale 720P to 1080P.
Any thoughts on these multiple formats? It has taken a lot of work to create the engine for converting them but now I have it I usually have at least 4 format versions of anything I do. Think it will increase sales?
Check out my stereoscopic 3D stuff too.
Any comments appreciated.
Regards,
PiaPoi

Hi
i see you have PAL and Multimedia format
if you look at this page:
http://www.pond5.com/index.php?page=artist_resources
you can see that both this formats does not sell very well, in my opinion there is no need for downsizing and selling clips in this format, just convert your HD clips to NTSC

Thanks to all. I recognise your names from footage I've been looking at.
I'm glad there is a community as well as the shop because sometimes you need to bounce ideas off others who know what they're talking about rather than just family who'll say "Oooh that's nice dear."

PiaPoi. Welcome aboard! I have often wondered about the curator price setting feature. It's definately worth it to convert your files to multiple formats, especially if you have a system and keep your time to a min. PAL seems to do OK. WEB format as well (I hear from some). I did experiment with a WEB size, but I think it was too small. I understand 640 X 460 does well and have started uploading a version of that with all my files. Please see my thread under Multiple Fomats. Also, you can send off an message to the curator to combine your files on one page showing all the formats. You'll need to note all the file IDs. See the instructions for submission. I use the Yuri Acers kewording tool and my small brain. See thread. Pricing is up to you. I try to price to sell, depending on the shot and long term level of views, sales. All the best! Terry

I agree with others who have given you some very good advice. Look at the artist resources and see the types of clips and formats that are selling. HD is around 60% as of late.
As I see that you have a specialty in animation, I also have been trying to add more of my After Effects comps to Pond5. I am hoping to dive into 3DS later this year.
Welcome to Pond5!
