This lens is for the larger Canon mounts, correct? Not the smaller target T2i?

It is made for 35mm/Full Frame sensors, but it works great on my T2i. You just have to remember that on the smaller sensor it's 1.6x, so it's effectively a 112-480mm lens.

Forgive me, I'm a kinda DSLR newbie. So the mount for the lens is good, without adaptor, for the T2i? Just put in on the camera? Wow... an 112 - 480mm! Jeepers. I presume the autofocus feature - as on EF lens, is not enabled if you use it for the T2i?
Your shots look great BTW!

It uses the standard EF mount which is what is used on the T2i (so no adapter). So the auto-focus and aperture are both electronically controlled by the T2i.
You can use any brand lens with an EF mount and the electronics will work (I had a Tamron lens for Canon EF and another Sigma lens for EF mount and the electronics worked perfectly with those as well). With standard "EF" lenses you just have to remember they are made for 35mm Film cameras or Full Frame sensors (like the 5D). So on the T2i and 7D you multiply them by 1.6x, but they still work great. Sigma and Tamron both sell lenses made for the smaller sensor which are 1:1. If I'm buying a zoom, I want the 1.6 personally. But for a wide-angle or non-zoom prime (like the Nifty 50) you want to get an EF-S lens if you can.

I have one and can recommend it for work with the T2i (and others). Have used it for about a month now covering political events then this past weekend during a commercial shoot in the outdoors.
Bottom line $125.00 + shipping is a GREAt deal.
*Tripod is a must!
