Quadrantid Meteor Shower

well last night I dug out the intervalometer and set my 5D MKII out on a beautiful cloudless and very dark night. The Quadrantid Meteor shower was supposed to be as high as 100 shooting stars per hour. I set the camera up for a 20 second shot every two minutes. Well after nearly 200 photos ... not a single shooting star. A few airplanes but nothing else... not even a ghost or Sasquatch! Darn.

A couple nights ago I set up a game cam at out family campground and orchard during the night. To my surprise I did capture on video a large mature Mountain Lion. Now my kids and grandkids are a little concerned about tent camping until I get rid of that large cat ;)

A mountain lion?? You are lucky!! They are very beautiful and endangered!

I was planning to get some shots of the quadrantid metor shower myself, but weather was not on my side!

I was out till 4:00am (after the moon finally set) and saw several meteors, but of course as Murphy would have it - the nice big ones were always where the camera was not pointing. I shot some great time lapse though - processing now. I did manage to catch two streaks, but very small they were. I almost missed them as I was going through the close to 1000 shots (2 cameras at 2 different intervals for 4 hours.)

Mountain lion? that would be cool to see. Could you post that to your youtube account?
