Keywording

It's not really my fav...I"m very gald for the templates though. Makes it at least bearable LOL!

Just be careful with templates, many artists don't change them and that results in a lot of spam. Also I suggest not copying other artists keywords, also leads to spam and if an artist can't keyword then they should be in the business of trying to sell photos and videos.

I was talking about the templates that we can create from scratch here. Are those bad to use? I don't copy other artists keywords at all, but I tend to shoot a particular subject of the same type and then I create my own template for it to make the uploading process faster. Should I not do this?

No templates are not bad to use and in many cases will save a lot of time. I was talking about artists that don't edit or change the description and keywords on new footage to match the new product. There are dishonest artists that actually copy other artists keywords then use that as a template on this and other footage agencies; and it's not just newbies that do this.
Templates used correctly can be a very useful tool.

Also be sure to at least check out the most popular keywords. You can save a lot of time by choosing keywords that are appropriate to your needs without having to guess. Then check to see who has the most sales for what you are doing. Check to see what keywords they are using. Keywords are common everyday words. So feel free to use whatever you like. Using another person's name and/or business is something I don't do and that is what has been a problem for phantomewo several times.

After talking the Tom (P5 CEO) and Dana P5 COO) regarding other artists copying keywords including real names and business names of other artists they stated that this action will not be tolerated. A number of artists here have done so and then continued to copy this data to numerous other agencies. The other agencies took immediate action and accounts were deleted. P5 stated that they would give strong warning not to do this and if it happens again actions would be taken. I've been trying to get some of these new offender footage removed. Even after telephone calls and promises and two contact e-mails there is no response.

P5 please help protect our work in the same way that you would product Pond5's name from being used in marketing by other agencies such as SS or IS. Google searches use our keywords, real names and business names, it is important to protect each and every artists from lazy and unethical artists like this when you are notified. We really need a little more response in the forums. Artists are asking and questions are not being answered. P5 has always been the number one agency working with artists, let's get back to the number one spot please.

P5, I know I"m relatively new here, but I too would hate to have my good name used to be able to increase my views. Don has been amazing at working with me and sharing his knowledge and insight...along many others in this community.

Here's the thing, no response and silence is tough for us as artists to handle, give us good communication, good resources to sell our material, and good explanations and I think most people will remain relatively happy.
