How long for your first sale ??

As a new contributor here at pond5 I was just wondering how long it was until you got your first sale.

Obviously this would depend on type and amount of footage you upload but does it take a while until you start showing up in searches.

Also is there anything you can do to get your footage seen.

When you'l get first sale depends on contents and keywording. I checked few your clips sized 960x540 pixels and in most of them you entered keywords 'hd', '1920x1080' what is a SPAM. What camera you used?

Thanks for pointing that out, I have now amended that - I think I used a template and have not quite got the hang of it.

Check the 'Multimedia' format in template if clip has other dimensions as listed.

I waited 2 months before the first sale (approx 200 clips portfolio) and 4 sales total the first 6 months.

I didn't know that using "HD" was a spam word? We did not use it in our first logs, but after seeing many clips in "Best the week" under Artist Resources using keywords like HD, 1080p, etc, I thought it was crazy not to start using it in our logs, as we do have a lot of Std Def footage aswell, so good obviously to distinguish between the two for search.
Is there a link to the spam words we can't use for logging?
And maybe this should be moved to the Artist's area??

Hello Susan,
HD is not a SPAM keyword. But for sure hd and 1092x1080 are SPAM keywords for jeffdalt's clips sized 960x540 pixels.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
