Long time reader, first time writer.
Let me first admit that I never really got into that whole stock game. It is ridiculously hard work, artistically rather bland and even financially quite risky if you have production standards that come with a price tag for talent, locations or own work time. So kudos to everyone who makes a living doing stock. You guys have my highest respect! A little off-topic but wanted to get this out of my system for quite some time now.
That all being said, I manage to cover my Spotify bills and then some with my video sales on Pond 5 for years now.
So while I´m far from being a top seller, I used to believe Pond 5 and I had a somewhat stable business relationship as small of a business as this may be.
When recently I browsed through my hard drives and went through some old and not so old unused musical stuff that I composed for my own projects, I naturally thought: What the heck, I might as well sell this through my old, trusty stock site.
But to my surprise, before I can upload anything music, you want to see a screenshot of my DAW (whatever that is gonna accomplish but enjoy my Studio One layout) and "an established website showcasing my professional work"?
Why on earth would I need a homepage to sell stock music? Or at all for that matter?
How come I am so p1ssed about this and while we´re at it: Why the recent percentage cut for music contributors?
Feel free to elaborate.
Best regards nonetheless.

Simple, they want this stuff because of the amount of people stealing others work and uploading here as their own.
I agree they should be more elaborate in why they are asking for it.
But there it is.
