time lapse video format-resize or crop?

Hi all, I am using DSLR which make 4288x2848 image.. when i make those images in mov file, do u think I should preserve this ratio? or I should export as 1080 HD format?

if I choose to export as 1080 format, the video will resize the image to make it wider, should I crop to the 1080 ratio? even though the wider format doesn't distort the object much.

hope i explain my question clearly, thanks!

I would crop it to 1920x1080 since it doesn't affect the quality and people buy more HD with 16:9 format. Maybe you can make two, one HD and one 4K so the buyer can choose

so it is okay to make a 4k version? somehow the quicktime doesn't play the 4k version smooth..

Yes it's ok for 4K version as long as it QT photo-jpeg and don't worry about QT playback.

The 4K works in video editor softwares (NLE) so that is all that matters.

I price 4K a little higher, but sell HD much more often.

hi all, if i didn't crop the 4k image, just let it convert to 1920x1080, will it be okay?somehow the image will be 'flatten' but will it consider as distortion? personally i find it okay that it gives a wide screen view..

4096 by 2304 is equivellent of 1920 by 1080 for 4k. Crop it to that.
