Photo Metadata

Quick question: I submitted a group of photos and got a message from a curator saying I needed to add more metadata. I had left the images' titles as they were when uploaded from the camera (i.e. "DSC_2742") and added no description. Are a new title and description required for approval? I ask only because I already got some photos approved and online without changing their titles or adding description. Thanks in advance.
