Images never get sold?

How come my images on depositphotos, shutterstock and bigstockphoto get sold regularly but on here, not even one is sold? Are these different types of customers on here perhaps? I soley do romance themed studio photos ie man/woman in embrace, sexy couple , images such as that... anyone have any insite in to this?

Ive sold 1 for $12, equivalent to more than 25 sells on shutterstock. I can tell you that P5 accepts almost any image were shutterstock rejects a lot of submissions ofr slightly movement blur or tid bit of noise.

Pond5 is not microstock, the others are. You'll always license more with a microstock agency because customers are charged a fixed fee for a number of downloads, and they may download many which are not even used. You then get paid per download. With Pond5, you get paid per USE, so it's for a license ("sale") rather than a download, for a higher fee. Personally I refuse to use any microstock agency just to get pennies per download, I value my work more than that. Those agencies and so many people using them are why the stock industry is nearly dead now and some fees even on other agencies have dropped to silly money, as the battle to keep up in the race to the bottom. Also bare in mind that Pond5 is known for footage more than images, and others say that their images don't sell well here (I don't have any images here for that reason). Also when you have the same images on Pond5 or another non-microstock agency, as well as the likes of SS, you're competing with yourself.

You will sell less photos here but will make lot more compared to other micro stocks. I too sell them on SS, Adobe etc and payout is depressing.. in cents. Last month I sold 3 photos here on P5 for almost $100 which takes approximately 5 m for me to make on other micro stocks. Just keep uploading and wait. Sales will happen but it takes 6-12 months before you see $$.
