Does your HD version or your 4K version of your videos get licensed?

Do the buyers always go for the lower cost HD version?

yep, very few buy my 4k versions, I talk about this in my videos. I usually down convert to 1080 for some wiggle room.

@Madvideo What advantage is there for you to down convert your 4K to 1080? When I upload 4K to P5 they offer an 1080 HD version along side the 4k version of my clips.

PCDMedia, It depends.. here are some factors I take into consideration..

File size
Quality, if I feel it is HQ then I upload the 4k version no matter
Slow motion video, often times I find downconverting results in better quality in regards to 4k at 120fps
the fact most of my sales are HD and inmost cases the 4k version is available
The video is not straight so 4k to 1080 means I can scale and rotate if needed

Often I upload the 4k version if it meets the criteria above, I have sold 4k, just not much.

I know I can price both the same, I know I can price higher to achieve the result I want or at least close but in most cases it comes down to making something a little interesting to a little bit more interesting with quality in mind.

At the end of the day, it really does not matter, 4k or 1080 or 480x640 upconverted to 1080, I do it all lol do what makes your work flow easier.
