Low Commision

i have messaged support on this subject a moment ago, this is just a heads up, I sold 6 images today all aviation all exclusive, I received 42 cents per image, 1/20th of what i should have received as an average, some images were set at £10 some at £16 irrespective they all sold for $0.83 each, they sold under the global market scheme, i read the info they could appear on Japanese tv or Chinese training videos, good stuff, so they can purchase images at a 95% discount, they can not buy camera gear at that discount, arriving in England they pay the same hotel rate as anybody else on the planet, so why is this urge to give artists work away, my travel costs to the airport are 7 times the commission I received, and i worked out that with travel time on site and editing I earned $0.18 per hour, while potentially a wealthy company laugh while they pick up images for nothing, before anyone says put the prices up, i would need to price my images at $400 if the discount is the same, and this prices out normal customers

I also had a photo sell like that for .39 cents. My list price was $39.99 and what is showing on the P5 search is the same.

You can’t opt out and all photographers are in the scheme even you , if you want to opt out contact Pond5 and they will close the account, I received a reply from pond5 support and they stated a sale at any commission is better than none, no it’s not why should my images be sold for 83 cents, it opens up new avenues for artists and pond 5 etc etc, so the next low sale I get i will pull all the images and if I get a low sale on videos I will close the account, I am not going to be working for 18 cents per hour which I worked out those sales brought me

i get $0.16 out of $8 priced items from time to time (not very rarely, i would say). i've had mail exchanges with the site and basically the idea is take it or leave it (they didnt put it like that, but it was implied). u can't opt out, and the only alternative is to stop collaboration with p5.

on the other side, the opposite does happen as well, and probably makes up for it and then some. meaning, they sell it at more or much more than the "list price".

The last 10 sales have been like this for myself, pond5 is the only stock site I use, so they are exclusive, the info on global sales state they could be on Japanese tv or on a Chinese training program, these are not poor country’s so why they can pay a fraction of the real price is what annoys me
