Importance of Clip's Title

How important do you think the clip's TITLE is?

As my library grows, I'm starting to have a hard time thinking of unique titles for every clip--especially if a few clips are similar in content.

I've been thinking of titling my clips with my own internal number scheme, which would be useless to a buyer.

But does a buyer actually look at a title? I realize the keywords and descriptions are important, but the title?

Some micro-stock sites don't even have a field for a title.

How do you guys with over 1000 clips handle this? Do you worry about unique titles for every clip?

I try to title the clip as closely as possible to what the clip is about.
From past posts here, the title is included in the searches but its weight is below the keywords.
Also from conversations I've had elsewhere, naming the clips with something meaningful is helpful to getting the clips found.

The clip title is used in the HTML title of the page, the description meta tag and as a H2 header within the page. I'm not sure if the Pond5 internal searches clip titles, but for Google and other search engines the clip title must be the single most important "key" to a clip's page.

So, as Jake said, keep them short and as close as possible to what the clip is about. Google will love you for it.

Expanding on what varius said, check out this example. I have a clip here on P5 and a couple other sites about Pangea, the supercontinent that existed 200 million years ago before it split into the continents we know today. If someone does a search on google for pangea and stock video, the P5 listing is the first thing that pops up.

The funny thing is, it doesn't come up for the other stock sites I have it listed at. Good job P5!
