Hey everyone! I'm new to Pond5 and still figuring things out. I'd love to hear your thoughts: What do you think makes a track stand out and actually get licensed? Feel free to share your tips and if you want to give my first few tracks a listen, I‘d be greatful for any feedback!

Hi,lizzy Sound.Ive been on here just shy of a year with a hundred odd tracks.About a month after I joined,I received a decent payment for dataset earnings.Nothing since then though. To answer your question,I would say play to your strengths. As in,compose in the genre(s) you feel comfortable in.Dont, for instance, try and make the cliche corporate music, just because you have heard its popular.Yes it can be popular, but sometimes, trying to create that specific sound can be detrimental to what flows naturally from you as a composer. So,without any more waffling on,I would suggest trying to remain authentic. But also a big dose of luck.Good luck anyway.

What I've always found funny is when people either ask for or give advice to potentially millions of people telling them how to stand out... not realising that if all those people do the same thing, they defeat the very purpose of - yes, you guessed it - STANDING OUT! ;)

A black spot on a perfectly clean and white sheet stands out, on a black sheet, it does not. As simple as that.

Having said that, standing out doesn't always make you money, quite the opposite. Just do what you do, there are no formulas, no recipes, the market has been sick and going to pieces for years, fess have gone down the drain, so don't have great expectations, be realiistic.
