Removing my images

I have decided to remove my images tomorrow i will have time to do this , I made the decision the next time I received a sale with a ridiculous commission, this decision was made for anything after this image link below

https://www.pond5.com/stock-images/photos/item/149600727-heathrow-flight-path-sign

So above is an image of a jet landing at Heathrow airport London , I received 74 cents for this sale, at the time of the sale Heathrow had been in the news due to a power cut that closed the airport for a few days, so in reality this would be used in a newspaper or during a news report, 74 cents is not acceptable, yesterday i had 3 sales for the grand total of 1.04 dollars, pond5 states these are sales you wouldn't have made ?, i don't want sales like this, first of all its a ridiculous amount secondly i don't know how they are being used, they could be on a web site of a multi billion pound company that are laughing at getting images for a dollar as an example, a few weeks ago i was approached through my website by a book publisher asking to use one of my images, they offered myself £350 around 464 dollars, this images is not on pond5, but you will see that people will pay a decent amount for images, my images are exclusive but pond5 seem to think giving them away is a great thing..... its not, next thing is if i get low balled on a video sale it will be removal and good bye pond5, i looked into shutterstock paying 10 cents for an image, so you take the image edit upload load tag and title which takes 15 minutes and you earn 10 cents, or 40 cents an hour, where is the sense in that its third world wages anyway thats how it is

Don't blame you. I made $0.39 on my last photo sale even though I had priced the image at $25. What's the point of being able to set your own prices if this is what happens?

Jsmitch there is no point pond5 are ok they sell thousands of images and pocket a few thousand pounds while the artists earn peanuts, but not from me, I have a few images left to remove it’s a slow process

I am new here. Wanted to know What is the average earning here?

Thinking about just stopping uploads here entirely. Seems pointless at this point. Every other agency I've seen decent sales on with much smaller assets. This is the ONLY agency I've made a whopping zero on. From industry to nature to landmarks. Tried a bit of everything here and as much others say: they're lucky if they get a profile view, let alone an asset one. Better off putting the time into the agencies that actually do something ;^)

Maybe that's the way, these stock websites are not worth it for photos or videos anymore, it's not just the low commissions but they sell your content to the Ai and social media companies and then it's spread around and who knows what happens to it, once it's out in the wild it's gone, can end up on the free sites as well.

Having a website but then promoting your work on places like TikTok, Instagram, Youtube etc but especially TikTok might be the way to go, TikTok just knows you better than you know you and feeds you the content, customers for your product might just have your product fed to them by the algorithm.

This fellow does incredible bird photography, https://www.tiktok.com/@kiransimpson.photography?_t=ZM-8ymL6KJtNvM&_r=1 ended up on my TikTok feed, now if I was a buyer I'd be buying his images for a lot more than the insulting rate stock sites pay, and that's the other thing, these stock websites are literally insulting and degrading artists, "he's a few pennies for your work", can't even by a can of pop or a coffee for what they pay, this is no longer even a hobby if you use the stock sites.

So the question for everyone still trying to make a living at this is, how did people do it BEFORE these stock sites came about?, how did they sell video, photos, art, music etc?, there's a little research project for you, maybe it's worth giving other methods a try.
