One question to Pond5. When will the sales data updated? I've just seen a clip was sold on January 6 and only now getting a message ... two days later ... why?

Interesting... Another thing I noticed is that the sales date on the front page when I login and then on my financials page are not usually the same. (usually 1 day apart). So I guess the imaginary button got pressed last night... I didn't get a sale :-(.

I'm not sure how they do it here, but I do know that one photo site that I contribute to will show the sale but will not put the funds into my account for 7 days. They had problems with bogus credit cards, etc and now wait until the money clears before they pay me.
Makes good business sense I guess

We go through all transactions manually to check for fraud attempts, sometimes people have problems with a clip and want a refund, (rarely) there's a P5<->paypal hickup and a clip is bought twice etc.
We've very recently upped the limit to 48h since this seems to cover the bulk of the issues.
So far P5 has taken the loss when a clip has been refunded instead of robbing you of the joy of the sale, so to speak, and it simplifies the code and everything if this can be done transparently.
The my_financial page reflects the real date of the transaction so there won't be any questions if you change the clip prices.
I hope you all are fine with this because it makes P5 work easier. There is a bit of support for the buyers going on and it's nice to keep this as uncomplicated as possible.

Seems to work. Of course there are the loud and vocal minority ... all of us .... who just like to talk, chat and complain. Hope it keeps ya on your toes. Still looks like the buyers are completely back into the mood of buying. I'm sure it will pick up soon.
So I guess sales made on Thur/Fri will post and show on Sat/Sun or will they probably be postpones till Monday?
Thanks,
Don

webclipmaker: I've put them on the queue.
Don: Yes, fridays sales will show up on Sunday. No skiing, I'll run out of http://swedish-snus.com/ by then and should be locked up somewhere.

Did Tom have to bail you out this week? Between being a ski bum and snusser I'm sure you must be looking over your shoulder for the friendly law enforcement. Maybe if you paid for your snus instead of shoplifting it you might not get locked up ;).
Thanks for your help. By far P5 is the fairest and most generous agency in the stock video world.

I'm not a ski bum, I'm an amateur going down the hills on pure stubbornness! My wife said I can be spotted 500m away because of my trademark 1m between the skis and vigorous pole handling. The snus was bought honestly in a store and smuggled properly into Switzerland.
Thanks, Don.

Hey Marcus, so you are what we used to call an official "Sitz Marker" on the slopes. :) You guys are great and just keep on doing what you do the way you do it. When all is said and done, this is the purest form of a "numbers game" and no one can control what happens and when. I for one truly appreciate the fact that you are kind enough to "eat" a deal gone sour. That is above any expectation we could ever ask for. Now if we could only get Congress to act that way.
